[Dixonary] Re: New way? No way, for me.
Dan, I don't know the internal workings of the TAPCIS software. It has to
interact with CompuServe's HMI interface. The From and Reply To are included in the stuff at the end of Email messages, at least as I see them. But I don't know whether TAPCIS scans that material to decide what it should put in the "from" line or not. And I don't know, but I *think* that some of what appears in a CompuServe Mail message can be controlled by a user's settings. TAPCIS may depend on some information provided by the HMI interface, and I don't know whether the HMI interface provides both the From and Reply To information or not. To really work properly, TAPCIS should include both the Reply To and From addresses in its Email headers. But since it only provides one piece of information about the message's sender, I am assuming it has to use the Reply To address so that replies can go to the correct place, whether by its choice or the HMI's choice. I scanned back over a few messages, and most do have *some* name in the From line. In some cases it is a whole name; in some it is just a surname (last name). In Judy Madnick's, there is no name at all, just an Email address. I don't know if there are others like that or not. For me, this is all a temporary irritation. Once I get everything set up with the TAPCIS.COM forum, I will no longer forward Coryphaeus messages to my CompuServe Email address. And eventually I will close my CompuServe account entirely; there is no longer anything there for me. Guerri Yahoo!
