Default [Dixonary] Vote in Round 2858, UBIETY

Folks,

The progress report, the extended time to submit definitions, or perhaps a few personal reminders turned up more definitions of UBIETY for a total of twelve. One entry in the list below is its real meaning. The others are your fellow players' efforts to deceive you. They have been edited for format consistency and are in ascending order by character count, which may not correspond to visual length in your email display font. Please vote for two that you like for any reason (such as, but not necessarily, thinking that they might be correct) by public Reply to this message before the deadline that follows the list.

1. presence of mind.

2. single-mindedness.

3. extreme indecision.

4. a sense of superiority over others.

5. superfluity; excess; overabundance.

6. the reciprocal of the radius of curvature.

7. the number of openings per linear inch of a screen.

8. the act of deserting or leaving behind a place or person.

9. the quality of being everywhere, omnipresence [Lat. _ubi_]

10. the ability to be comfortable worshiping with those of any faith.

11. in some religions, the use of shunning as a punishment for a transgression.

12. [philosophy] the property of having a definite spatial location at a given time.

The deadline for voting is 46+ hours from now: 9 pm on Tues., Dec. 19, in the eastern U.S. According to timeanddate.com <http://timeanddate.com/> that is also:

and other times in other places. You may want to check the conversion that applies to you. This site, though good, doesn't claim to be perfect.

Also, we'll have neighbors over for dinner that evening. If they're still here at 9, tabulation will be delayed until they leave and I've done my share of clean-up. So, if you haven't seen the results yet, you can still vote even if it's a bit past the official deadline.

New players are welcome to vote, even if you didn't submit a definition for this word - as are, of course, veteran players who happened not to. Full rules at http://www.dixonary.net/game-rules-and-advice/rules <http://www.dixonary.net/game-rules-and-advice/rules> .

Have at it!

Efrem
