Default Automatic Log Off?

A couple of times lately I have logged into the forums and later, when trying to reply to a message, been told that I am *not* logged in, and have to do so. The only thing I can think is that after some time of inactivity the software decides I'm not really here. Sometimes I go off to do something else online, like try what someone has suggested, and time elapses.

No idea, Guerri. I've never had that happen, myself. But it wouldn't surprise me if there's a time-out built in.

The cookie timeout is currently set for one hour. If you don't do anything in the forum for that amount of time you are logged off, and if you close your window the forum software doesn't know that you are gone until that amount of time.

Judy, FYI, it's in the first set of options (VBulletin Options), in "Cookies and HTTP Header Options".

Hmm, I don't think the elapsed time could have been that long, but maybe it was. Time flies. Thanks for the information!
