Default RE: [Dixonary] Round 3136 SAGATHY results

All - Here are the results for Sagathy. First, my apologies to Debbie Embler and Dave Cunningham for misinterpreting their messages and not posting their definitions, and 2 dealer points for each of them. I hope I got everything else right. In any event, sagathy is from the 1828 Noah Webster dictionary (next time I'm dealer I'll use another source), and it means "a mixed woven fabric of silk and cotton.

The winner is the def, which received 5 points. After that, Johnny Barrs and Mike Shefler both received 4 points, but Johnny is higher in the rolling scores, so he becomes the next dealer, and Mike the real winner. Here are the results:

1. [psych.] the tendency to consider one's own opinions more credible than those of others. Efrem MallachReceived one vote from Shefler. Voted for 4 and 8. Score: 1

1. descriptive of pottery that has not been properly fired, usually due to being wrongly placed in the sagger. Tim Bourne. Received one vote from Naylor. Voted for 5 and 12. Score: 1

1. an evergreen creeping plant _Hedera virens_, often used by gardeners to provide ground cover in shady spots. Tim Lodge. Received one vote from McGill. Voted for 9 (the real def) and 12. Score: 3

1. Among North American Indian peoples: a kind of porridge made from maize. Also: a stew made with this, along with other ingredients such as vegetables, wild rice, beans, and fish. Johnny Barrs. Received votes from Fein, Keating, Cunningham and E. Mallach. Was DQ. Score: 4
1. the possession of arcane knowledge. Ryan McGill. Received one vote from Bourne. Voted for 3 and 11. Score: 1

1. A kind of headpiece [Urdu]. Paul Keating. Received one vote from Widdis. Voted for 4 and 9. Score: 3

1. the act of seizing on some thought or occurrence, and, by a sudden turn, presenting it under aspects wholly new and unexpected -- apparently natural and admissible, if not perfectly just, and bearing on the subject, or the parties concerned, with a laughable keenness and force. Daniel Widdis. Received one vote from Naylor. Voted for 6 and 9. Score: 3

1. an herb of the mint family used primarily as a sachet for scenting clothes. Mike Shefler. Received votes from Embler, Madnick, Cunningham and E. Mallach. Voted for: 1 and 12. Score: 4

1. A mixed woven fabric of silk and cotton. Webster’s Dictionary 1828. Received votes from Embler, Madnick, Keating, Lodge and Widdis. Score: 5

1. A usually negative effect on the growth or development of an organism of one species, caused by a chemical released by an organism of another Judy Madnick. Received one vote from Fein. Voted for 8 and 9. Score: 3

1. One of the Northern Athabaskan languages, spoken in the interior of Alaska and in the interior of the Yukon Territory. Deborah Fein. Received one vote from McGill. Voted for 4 and 10. Score: 1

1. The state or quality of having good intentions. Tony Abell. Received votes from Bourne, Shefler, and Lodge. Did not vote. Score: 3
