Shouldn't somebody have dealt a new word for round 1830 by now? I think
results of the last round were reported around noon (EDT) Friday. It's now
around 29 hours later.....

Toni won the deal. I haven't heard anything from her. Scott Crom is next in
line.

Let's see if it comes out this way. When I switched to "Old Groups" I got
the crazy formatting with nothing but ones. So it has something to do with
the New/Old interface. I don't what to do to force it through Google Groups
unscathed.

It came through perfectly fine (by e-mail) the first time here, as well as
all subsequent times including this latest one. All 21 defs numbered
perfectly correctly. Nothing wrong at all.

The Word for this round is

****************
* *
* CATAGMATIC *
* *
****************

As usual, no indication of capitalisation or otherwise is implied.

New players are welcome. Don't look in a dictionary. If you know the word,
let me know soon, by email (if too many people know it, we'll pick another
word).

Think up a creative, intriguing, funny or genuine looking definition that
will entice your fellow players to vote for it. Send it BY EMAIL (not as a
public forum message) to me, <johnnybarrs (AT) gmail (DOT) com> or <
john.barrs (AT) ntlworld (DOT) com> before the deadline...

Becasue of our rather full weekend I have taken the liberty of making the
deadline rather longer than usual

23:00 British Time 04 Jun 2012
which is
18:00 EastCoast USA
15:00 WestCoast USA
.... or thereabouts and etc

Full rules, if you're curious, are in the files area of the
dixonary.netsite http:
dixonary.net/rules or the sticky messages at tapcis.com in The Parlor

Catagmatic?

The reflex system in felines which causes them, when jumping on you to wake
you up, to stick their claws firmly in your body,

one presupposes a NAD here

I was awoken this morning by a scuffle in our bedroom - our cat, who never
usually succeeds in catching anything, had caught and released a mouse and
was having to hunt it down again

FAWII : For anyone who is interested info - Dave's response arrived as a
reply to the group and a cc to the group and a cc to me on my other address

[Dixonary] GoogleGroups weirdness

The site's still acting up. Johnny reports that he received three copies of
Dave's joke def. I got two, and FOUR copies of Dave's admission of the
error in reporting Chuck's vote on the last round. Is someone in
communication with the humans presumably behind all this?

I try to make sure "cc" is not checked -- all of a sudden, Google is
setting the default to making a cc!

[Dixonary] New Word: CATAGMATIC

I'm just resetting the subject for the benefit of those who use the
Google Group on the web. I nearly didn't read this thread because it
was headed "Google Group Weirdness".

[Dixonary] New Word: CATAGMATIC

Tim, I missed the thread entirely because it didn't have any subject line
when I viewed the Groups site. Which is why I'm only just responding now,
2 days later.

Re: [Dixonary] New Word: CATAGMATIC

Jim

in the heat of the moment I neglected to add a title. Foreseeing a hectic
week-end I did allow a fairly long time to collect definitions. Tim changed
the thread title when there was still more than 24 hours to go - but while
doing so he said it was mistitled as "Google Group Wierdness" -- on my
records it just doesn't have a title at all which is obviously my fault

Thinking about it I can award votes at dealer discretion and so as this is
my fault I shall award you a DP
