I love the idea of #11 and I reckon the background music to such an
event should be played by #3 (who would be unheard and without being
able to engage in any regularity)

I apologize for inadvertently voting privately. I had installed a new
version of Thunderbird, and I would like to blame it, but I am not sure
I can do that because I am not sure whether it is really different. I
think I had always just said "reply" in order to vote as a reply to the
"vote now" message. But I may simply not be remembering. At any rate in
Thunderbird version 52.5.2 one has to choose "reply list" rather than
simply "reply". Reply produces a reply to the sender of the message.
