Of All the Heros....

Oh all the heros, who would expect Bubba Crosby??

Joe lets Bubba hit in the bottom of the ninth, and Crosby pulls a Giambi!

It actually makes sense, the pitcher he was facing was throwing off speed stuff and Bubba was not geared up for heat.

Now, COME ON TAMPA!!!
:D

Mike,

Actually Bubba has been coming on steadily. One of the announcers on TV who was a player said that the problem with Crosby was simple tension. He was so keyed up that he wasn't keeping his hands back and was hiting with no power at all....all arms. The guy said that all the bouncing back and forth between the Yankees and AAA ball had messed with Crosby's head. Looks like that is a thing of the past now. And believe you me, we need Crosby in right field. Ruben was a joke there yesterday!

Tampa won, btw. 1/2 game out!

I think Ruben is still hurt. In any case, I've liked Bubba and wondered why they don't keep him up in the Bronx.

I saw his HR. It looked like Giambi. Fast swing, and the ball exploded off his bat. Bubba knew he got it all when he swung.

He must not have slept a wink last night. <g>

Bubba was on the Mike & Mad Dog show and confirmed that Mattingly has been working with him to change his approach at the plate. The hands thing and tension. Whatever....he done good and looks like a lock for the rest of the season in rightfield.

It seems that Mattingly is earing his keep. Giambi, Cano and now Crosby have creditted him with changing their approach with positive results.

Mike,

It's the Don and Mel show with the Yankees this year...both hitting and pitching have dramatically improved because of their efforts. Just, ah, er, amazing!

Talking about Cano...he showboated last night and missed an easy out at firstbase. Still a rookie. <sigh>

Also, Small was the victim of too many sloppy plays behind him. Even with his control being off in the first few innings, he could have left after 5 innings having given up only 2 runs (his era for the game) instead of the 4 that showed on the scoreboard. This cost the Yankees because they had to go to their bullpen and it once again failed the test. Rodriguez, Proctor, Embree, and Franklin have not done the job. (Whatever happened to Mendoza? Still on the disabled list? We sure could use him now.)

Gordon has been a Maalox pitcher for the fans.

Good question! He is so much wasted potential.
