View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 2272: OART [Progress]

Paul Keating
January 11th, 2012, 11:32 AM
So far, fifteen definitions have been received, from the following
players:

Tony Abell, John Barrs, Tim Bourne, Chris Carson, Dave Cunningham,
Steve Dixon, Steve Graham, Keith Hale, Jim Hart, Tim Lodge, Judy
Madnick, Mike Shefler, Guerri Stevens, Dick Weltz and Daniel Widdis.

If your name is in the list, this posting should come as no surprise,
because you will have received an individual acknowledgement. But if
your name is not in the list, it probably indicates that your def is
trapped in a spam filter, rather than nondelivery. If you simply
resubmit your def, the resubmission may suffer the same fate. Instead
or as well, please draw my attention to the problem in a public
message.

The word, in case you missed the initial posting, is OART:
capitalization is not significant. You still have thirteen hours to
submit your fake definitions for this word, which you should of course
send me by _email_, to oart (AT) dixonary (DOT) net.

The deadline for submissions is on Wednesday 11 January 2012 at
22:30 PST
23:30 MST
and on Thursday 12 January 2012 at
00:30 CST
01:30 EST
06:30 GMT/UTC
07:30 CET for me
and 17:30 EDT in Melbourne.

Ah well..... guess I'll wait for the next one. Sorry. But I don't
see Reply to author -- at least not so far.

What I have to do is copy the author's email address from the From line, then click on Reply, then
paste that address into the To line in place of the group address.

Best wishes,
Tim B.

I have found that i have to start a brand new email. Even doing as
Tim says gets me "a crown" for some reason. So i copy the round
number and paste that into the subject line. I imagine it was very
different when you last played, Frances.

I (in Thunderbird) just click on the "From" line and one of my choices is
"Compose message to"; click on that, and I'm ready to go!

Welcome back, Frances.

No need to wait, there's still time to send another in this round.

Whether you see 'Reply to author' or whatever will depend on how you
get your messages - by mail, on the groups site or via your ouija
board. These matters are much debated in these parts.
