Happy New Year to all!

Here, for your defining pleasure, is the first word for 2012, a Year of the
Dragon (although I guess that doesn't properly begin until we observe the
Lunar New Year on January 23rd). If any among us be privy to the mysteries
of Asian astrology, you can tell us what that may mean for the near future.

Meanwhile, the word is: WUGG.

Should you, perchance, be familiar with it and its meaning, please notify
me privately (do NOT reply directly to this message) without delay.

Otherwise, please send along a "definition" you think suitable (again,
privately; do NOT direct-reply to this message). I'm setting a longish
deadline, due mainly to pressing personal and business commitments: Monday
2 January, 9 a.m. EST; that would be one to three hours earlier for
west-of-me players, 2 p.m. for the Brits, 3 p.m. for Hugo and Paul, and 1
a.m. Tuesday for Jim and Millie.

New players are, as always, welcome.

Does this count as the first word for 2012 because the round will finish
in 2012? or should it be the last word for 2011 because it was announced
in 2011??? Inquiring minds want to know...

A radio station in Cincinnati that plays particularly loathsome music.

Depends on your POV, I guess. Are you looking back or ahead?

Personally, I'm trying to look forward to mastering this Win 7 stuff that's
driving me crazy.

It's the Round That Time Forgot! Frozen in the nanosecond when 2011
clicks over to 2012. That Event Horizon where time becomes Frosted
Lucky Charms Cereal (part of this complete breakfast). Where space
becomes - well, more space, but this space is way different. For one
thing, it just seems to have more space in it. (It doesn't, that
would just be silly.) Where online word games become an excuse for
(swear on a stack of copies of America, The Book) a 48-year-old,
48-years-sober recluse in Arlington Texas (home of way too damn much
sports - you wouldn't believe the traffic!) to gas on and on about
irreverent irrelevancies.

Would be better if the numbers were "rounder".
My odometer on my work van -- was at 88,888 when gassing it up today.

Just saying.

My nad: Warren Underhill-Gustersen-Garibaldi. (The third.) The late,
esteemed inventor of Looking Up Rude Words in Dictionaries. He is
sorely missed.

(Here's hoping 2012 sucks WAY less than 2011! Woo-who?!)
