A finely-honed group of clever defs received for erinaceous. All are
posted below along with the real one. Please vote for the two best,
here.
Voting will commence immediately and be closed approximately 30 hours
from now at 4:30 p.m. Central Time on Monday October 3. So get
voting. And here's me hoping to avoid another D11 in my first deal in
nearly a year. (That happened in one of my first deals -- a wonder I
didn't give up then and there.)

Not a clue; but I think 4 is cute, so I'll take that and its double. That's
defs numbers 4 and 8.

I usually avoid vox pop (and have the low rolling score to prove
it)... but 8 & 16 are just calling my name.

Leaning towards the elemental defs, I'll take 6 and 9:

Nancy -
I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.
I'll try the obvious and something else -
3. Irish; of Irish origin
and
4. of the hedgehog family; like, or characteristic of, a hedgehog.
Thanks,
Chuck

None of them sound right, so I'll take:
#11 - papery bark, and;
#16 - water in the pores
