Nancy Shepherdson is the clear Dealah with 7 natural points ..Weltz
and Dixon tied for Winnah with 3, and Toni managed to choose the
"Roncy def" to spoil the round. . And I did choose the word order a
bit for the first 8 defs <g> which Dan noticed and wondrously
connected to the rest.

1. sexy; desirable [Stevens] 6 17 nil

2. [OE] maybe; maybe not.[Shefler] 9 17 (Bourne) (Abell) 2

3. dull, bleak, and lifeless [Widdis] 5 9 (Schultz) 1

4. _Archaic_ To give birth to. [Carson] NV (Morgan) 1

5. Angry, violent, formidable. [O.N. ber: "bear" and O.N. soemr:
"fitting, seemly"] [Hale] 12 16 (Widdis) 1

6. a ledge between the parapet and the moat in a fortification
[Weltz] 16 17 (Madnick) (Stevens) (Keating) 3

7. a clover. [Webster] NV (Savage) D1

8. motherly concern [Abell] 2 15 (Morgan) (Shepherdson) 2

9. a cluster of related dialects that were once the major language
of northern Africa west of Egypt; now spoken mostly in Morocco
[Morgan] 4 8 (Widdis) (Graham) (Shefler) 3

10. a variety of ash tree, often found with a weeping habit.[Bourne]
2 17 0

11. stone mill worked by hand. [Madnick] 6 14 0

12. To exalt, carry aloft (the soul). _Obs. rare._ [Keating] 6 16
(Hale) 1

13. seamless, without a seam [nonce word: Wycliffe's Bible John 19:23
_now the coat was berseem_; literally _bare of a seam_] [Barrs] DQ 0

14. The froth formed on the surface of a vat of fermenting beer.
[Graham] 9 17 (Madnick) 1

15. a high-tide line [Schultz] 3 17 (Abell) 1

16. an off-white to light-gray clay mineral found in some tropical
soils. [Dixon] NV (Hale) (Shepherdson)(Keating) (Weltz) 3

17. (Arab.) a money purse, most often worn tied around the waist
under clothing; now, often, an anonymous donation. [Shepherdson] 8 16
(Schultz) (Graham) (Stevens) (Bourne) (Shefler) (Savage) (Weltz) 7!!

Savage *7 17 2+0 = 2

DQ, DF (I also was the perennial dealer when MPGAMES had a
concurrent game - and one time at least I dealt in both at the same
time - Toni may have the counts somewhere)

I am down as a "No Vote" but I voted (9 & 14) a little before 2:00 AM. I
just checked and that message shows in "The Parlor" on Tapcis Forum, and in
the Dixonary Group on Google. Am I doing my voting incorrectly? Votes aren't
supposed to be sent to the dealer's private email, the way defs are,
correct?

Not the first time I have sent a vote that didn't get registered, so I must
be the culprit. I will re-read the Rules.

I saw it here before the deadline (because I went searching my mind for the
word that describes vat froth)

It doesn't cost me anything but a couple of good fakes lose a point.

Actually, she's the winner with 8 natural points—and I was also
shortchanged.

You didn't record Matthew's votes; one was for Nancy's def, #17, and the
other was for mine, #15.

And Steve Dixon is correct: his votes, for #9 (Millie's def) and #14
(Steve Graham's), came through fine here.

It did seem the first few told a story, which prompted my prose. Was my

I think I'm the only one who still plays both games. I occasionally use
fake defs (and even woids) from one game in the other one, since nobody
else will notice. Once, a year or two ago, I had the deal in both games
and dealt the same word both places. :)

For the first 8 you were uncannily close - the rest were sort of
random to me, but you managed to make them sort of cohere!

When I did that, I combined both sets of defs - and ran it as a joint
round <g>.
