We have 18 carefully thought-out definitions, only one of which comes from
a dictionary. Please select any two and email your votes to the group at
the regular Dixonary address.

In view to the Canada Day holiday tomorrow, I'll extend the deadline for
receipt of votes until Saturday morning at 10:00 AM EDT. Don't look the words
up. Players may vote who haven't submitted a definition.

1: a dry well

2: a wooden flagon

3: to harass; bother

4: a kneading-trough

5: a corral for goats

6: type of edible clam

7: a small copper rivet

8: a wooden brace [obs.]

9: an early earthenware bowl

10: a person who is gullible; a patsy

11: a non-specific pain (var. _crick_)

12: _N.Z. informal_ a tramper's home-made high-calorie sweetmeat

13: the articulated front wheel assembly on a horse-drawn carriage

14: to complain persistently, esp. in a whining or petulant manner

16: also known as the slop locker. a source of used and discarded
clothing for sailors

"plein air" painting

I will choose 12 & 15.

"Good guessing"? For me this is definitely a guess! I have no clue, no hints, etc.

I'll go with these:

<< 2: a wooden flagon
<< 8: a wooden brace [obs.]

I'll take 12 because I have no idea what a tramper might be and 14 because
I'm currently dealing with an acquaintance of that description.

12: _N.Z. informal_ a tramper's home-made high-calorie sweetmeat

14: to complain persistently, esp. in a whining or petulant manner

14: to complain persistently, esp. in a whining or petulant manner

Wildly guessing, I'll try two personal choices, 10 and 14:

> 10: a person who is gullible; a patsy

> 14: to complain persistently, esp. in a whining or petulant manner
