View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 2217: PAUSE for dealership ruling

Sort of a re-post, to make sure we know how to proceed.

In round 2216, 2 players earned top spot with 6 points:
they were John Barrs and Chuck Emery. John
Barrs's definition "A light and meaningless activity used to pass the
time." earned its author the deal, and Chuck Emery can heave a sigh of
relief that "To pursue a variety of distractions at a single time." did
not earn one more vote.

Keith Hale takes runner-up position with 5 points.

Well, hm. I'm not bothered in the least, i quite understand!

I'm in a really serious time crunch at present, and would *NOT *mind someone
else dealing!
I posted a word for round 217 - but i'd be happy to save it for when i next
deal.

What says the group? I'm not sure of the precedents here.
*There are no *ZEIGARNIK *definitions submitted yet!*
I will deal if that is best. I'd prefer to yield to Mr. Barrs!

Precedent is that once a word is dealt, adjustments to the scores don't
change the dealer.

However, given that Johnny has already posted a new word and you've received
no defs and you're busy, I completely understand if you wish to pass it on
to Johnny and would support that course of action.

I think your assumption is correct. I was just saying it was opposite our
"precendent" but that doesn't mean we can't change precedent or make
exceptions! :)

I'm proceeding under the assumption JohnnyB is the dealer.

Given Chris's revision, Keith's mention of keyboard problems and stated
preference of yielding to Johnny, and Johnny's posting of a word, I was
assuming that Johnny's the new dealer. Now, I'm not sure! :-(

I didn't realise how much upheaval would result! As Johnny B is willing to
deal (and has dealt) i gratefully yield the round to the actual victor!
[C8 Take it away, sir!

Folks,

I am really sorry to cause (or rather, add to) the confusion - I am on
holiday with uneven access. I sort my mail so that dixon postings go to a
folder(label) and read my inbox first: I posted my word as the result of a
private message from the last dealer which appeared in my inbox - it wasn't
until after I posted a new word that I went to the dixon folder and realised
what I had done... so I decided to leave it to you-all to sort out.

It seems that I am the dealer. I have a dozen or so defs and given Keith's
problems I am happy to continue.

OK? JohnnyB

JB> OK?

It seems a dozen or so people agree. :)
