I decided to wait a while, before updating from 4.x to 5.0.

AVG, McAfee SiteAdvisor, and Real Player extensions not yet compatible with FF 5.0. I have found all three of these extensions useful, so for me it's probably worthwhile to wait until compatible extensions come out.

AVG and SA not really redundant wrt each other since sometimes one warns but the other doesn't. I don't care a lot about the fact that they reduce browsing speed.

Unfortunately I'll probably have to reinstall all 3 applications since I don't know an easy way to upgrade the browser extension part of the applications alone without upgrading the whole application.

AvG linkscanner works with FF 5.0 now.

I don't care a lot about McAfee SiteAdvisor or about Real Player in FF, so I went ahead and installed AVG Link Scanner newest as of today and then intalled FF 5.0. Seems ok , so far.

Firefox 5 is really 4.2. They upped the number for commercial reasons. There are no important changes and the interface is the same as version 4.
