No, Nancy. Round 1633 no longer counts; it's the last FOUR rounds (1634
through 1637) plus this one. Tim's total for those rounds was 9 and
Guerri's was 10--so it's Guerri who's the next dealer.

I've been offline most of the day because of a duff broadband
connection, but I wish I'd seen that before I'd spent half an hour
looking for a new word!

Guerri - it's all yours!

Sorry, Tim. I guess I should have posted the question before I leaped
off into the land of guesswork. Guerri, are you there?

No, I'm not here!

OK, I am brand new to dealership. I will post a word. After that, I may
need a mentor. I assume it would be advantageous to download one of the
software products.

Other than not having an opportunity to vote for the correct definition, what else happens that I apparently missed?

Anyhow, I didn't vote for my own definition on purpose. I'll have to be sure to save my definition messages in the future. <G>

That is all. You deprive yourself of the opportunity to earn 2 points from
guessing correctly. The expected value of the points lost to you in this way
is 2/(n-1) where n is the number of players including the dealer.

The points you deprive other players of by not voting have an expected value
of 1/n .

My track record for guessing the correct definition is pretty bad. <sigh> I probably didn't lose much.

Memories of my being a math major!! Thanks for the explanation.
