Sorry, this took a little while. Time zones and rules and all without software!

Here are (sweet) 16 definitions, 15 of which from the minds of
Dixonarians, and one from a dusty old book called "Webster's".

Please vote for the two you like best!* You may vote even if you
didn't submit a definition.

If for any reason you happen to recognize the actual definition, you
may not vote, and you should notify me privately at
thoughtstorms (AT) gmail (DOT) com - so that i can record that your DQ, and not
wait for a vote before announcing results.

This is way too fishy. <G> I'll choose one fish and one definition that I simply like!

<< 1>* dried and salted Norwegian spindle fish

<< 10>* (Glass Making) a small opening in a furnace, before
<< which a globe of crown

Keith, that's too short a deadline. Like the time allowed for submission
of defs, the time allowed for voting has to be at least 24 hours
(between 24 and 36); this is more like 17 or 18. (This rule means that
someone who is able to check his or her e-mail only once in that 24-hour
period will see the posting.)

Keith

I'll ignore all the fish and go for the disreputable people:

Everybody seems to think it's probably a fish. So do I. On the other
hand, maybe not. So, one fish, one not-fish:

and

Congratulations Keith on doing such a great job with the deal; and without
software!
I'll guess 3 and 14

3> dried mud
14> a wastrel.

All the best

of crown

process.

and

13>* a strip of whalebone, wood, steel, etc., inserted into the front
of a corset to stiffen it.

Um, too many fish for me so I'll go for the slothful wastrel - that's #5 and
