Here are 17 imaginative defs of MARCIATON, plus the one from my
dictionary. Vote for TWO definitions, as a public forum message (in
reply to this one), before the deadline:

1: monotonous.
2: in the style of a march (mus.).
3: a short literary essay or sketch.
4: the alpine anemone, Pulsatilla alpina
5: a bribe to avert invasion by nomadic tribes.
6: a gray rabbit of Portugal and southern Spain.
7: a successor in a family business, esp. when not the heir.
8: a*document outlining*the duties of an office or position.
9: a kind of ointment, used esp. to treat pain in the joints.
10: field fortification with two parapets meeting at an angle.
11: a subatomic particle characterized by an intrinsic angular
momentum.

Drat! I was so fixated on finding the right replacement doohickey for
the kitchen sink this afternoon that I totally forgot to send in a def!
My guesses: #14 because it sounds right, and #15 because it's so sweet.
