Sorry for the slight delay in getting the word out. One of those days.
Isn't it weird how you always get the deal on such days? Never when
you're just lolling about with nothing to do, peeling grapes . . .

But I digress. To business.

The word for round 2178 is *ESCOLAR*.

The deadlines for my receipt of your submission of an original
"definition" fashioned to fool your fellow players into supposing it's
the real one from an actual dictionary:

Wednesday 2 February, 7 p.m. on the US Left Coast and 10 p.m. here in
the East, somewhere in-between for those in Middle America; 3 and 4 a.m.
on Thursday the 3rd* for players in England and the Netherlands
respectively; and 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in Melbourne.

*REMINDER: *Do *not* submit your def by direct reply to this message;
send it to my own e-mail address. And if you actually /know/ what the
word means, don't wait for the deadline; e-mail me right away, again
privately. (If too many know it, I'll choose a new word.)

*Pause to observe the Lunar New Year---a Year of the Hare, presaging
plenty of talk and possible mediation. Let's hope so.
