<< Well, I'm glad it worked for you, but entering stuff by hand is very
<< tedious, and, for votes, error prone.
It really wasn't too bad.
<< Move the game emails temporarily back to your Inbox or equivalent.
<< Tell Coryphæus to import the messages: Messages | Email.
<< Say that you want it to look at all messages in your Inbox (not just unread
<< ones) but filter on word/round number (this is dangerous in practice because
<< some players vote with messages headed "Digest Number 123", but it will do
<< for the test.)
The error message says to paste the the error log. Where do I find that? Meanwhile . . . although I don't know much about this, I can tell you that the file containing the messages shows the individual messages like this: 0A3AE1CF-03D1-456D-A6C4-E8D7F9B8181C.msg . I'm wondering whether that's why Cory can't find the proper messages. The program I use is Express Plus. It's available for a trial download at chaossoftware.com if you ever get *really* bored and want to see how it works. <G>

Ah, the error log. Good. I put that in to make remote diagnosis of problems
easier. This is the first time I've been able to use it with a real error:
the simulated ones you do to test that sort of thing (like dividing by zero)
are never quite as good.
The message _should_ have told you the name of the logfile ("details have
been logged to file x"). It is called coryph.log and it should be in the
same folder at the version of coryph.exe that you were running at the time.

I guess I must have tried a couple of different things using email. Anyhow, here are the error messages:
8/14/2005 9:17:30 AM MAPI logon failed, error 3 (LOGON FAILURE). This indicates a MAPI configuration problem. Coryph23 Logon 148

Ok, that looks straightforward. It appears that your email client either
does not support MAPI, or else is not configured as your Simple MAPI Client,
or possibly you have security options set that prevent applications like
Coryphæus from peeking at your email.
First thing I will do is have a look at the software and see if I can
determine which of these possibilities is the most likely.

<< Ok, that looks straightforward.
Glad you think so. LOL!
<< It appears that your email client either

I don't see "MAPI" anywhere -- for whatever that's worth.

<< Coryphæus from peeking at your email.
If I do, it's by default.

That would be great! I appreciate that. No rush -- I don't expect to be dealing again any time soon. LOL!
Thanks for your ongoing assistance!!

Best to be prepared. I went to the Chaos Software website, but I
couldn't find documentation to download, and nothing helpful in the
KB, so I dropped their tech support people a query.

You'll be able to ask the questions better than I. <G> The program developer's name is Mike. If you don't get a satisfactory response via email, let me know. You can give me the info, and I'll call.

Ok, got a reply from Chaos, but not the one I wanted:
>> Express Plus is not MAPI compliant.
That's a big surprise. I thought _every_ program supported it. Anyhow, no
point in fretting about that.
Coming shortly, because it's in the works already, will be an interface for
tapcis.com, allowing you to select a thread and import it directly, much as
you could from CIS Webview.
But that solves only half the problem (the vote messages). I'll take a look
at Express Plus's facilities for saving emails to disk and see what can be
accomplished that way. This is not a big deal: that is the way Coryphæus
supports Tapcis.

Please don't go to a lot of trouble. I was perfectly content entering definitions and votes. At least I didn't have to wade through a lot of messages with the same topic but off-topic "stuff." <G>
Thanks for checking though!

Hopefully it will allow importing multiple threads, since some older
clients (such as TAPCIS) break the threads at tapcis.com.

One at a time, I'm afraid. That's because you can't ctrl-click links on a
web page.
