Secunia PSI 2.0 problem

Tried to update Real Player using PSI 2.0 today. Got 'attacked' by some mal or crap ware. Panda Cloudantivirus caught it and OpenDNS blocked the URL.

Learned a small lesson too. When a suspicious pop up appears don't try to close it. Shut down or kill by task manager. Closing may actually try to load or activate it.

General lesson learned. Use unpatched program ITSELF to check for updates AFTER being notified by PSI. PSI don't always do it right.

Doing some scans of my XP now , just in case crap ware 'got thru'.

If I had it to do over, I'd probably wait until version 2.01 or so before installing.

2.0 seems not to have a 're-scan' option to check after patching, without doing a whole complete PC scan. Maybe there were good technical reasons for taking out that feature or maybe I don't know how to do in 2.0?
