For your consideration, we have a bumper crop of defs after the holiday
weekend.
There are a total of 20 definitions for WOWF, one of which was extracted
from an actual dictionary. Please vote for your two favorites, by public
reply to this message, before deadline, which is 9:00 AM EST on Tuesday,
November 30, 2010, or 6:00 AM PST and yes, I'm stretching the deadline a
bit for convenience.

1. [Pol.] A type of bean soup.

2. A plow equipped with a double moldboard that turns up the soil on each
side of the furrow, often having an attached drill for seed planting.

3. Excessive amplification of the lower frequencies in an audio system.

4. A jug for wine.

5. The 27th letter of the Arabic alphabet, having a sound of "w" or "u."

6. A secret society.

7. Elaborate glazed Italian pottery.

I still think it's not a real word, but here are my guesses:

with a bumper crop of defs I can fall more fall on my face than usual - so,
fo no good reasons I'll choose #8, double it and add 1 so also #17 please
(giving a definition of one for the other)

They are all wrong but that never mattered before so I'll pretend that
the true def is either 2 or 20.

The allusion to wow and flutter, those banes of cassettes and warped LPs, does
not convince me, as I think I would have heard of such a contraction.

I'm going to guess it's something completely unlikely, so I choose 4 and 8:
