Dear Dixons

First time since we changed the method - here are the new word files - or
rather there they are

go to dixonary.net and then choose 'Old Games'- and 'Used Word List'

I think the files are OK but note that the date of posting doesn't update
-(ż Paul ?)

I have an apology to make about the delay in posting these files: my machine
has gone kaput and I am using a machine originally purchased in 1987 - it
has taken me a while to recover applications and data from backups - and to
choose what I can fit on a much smaller machine - and to learn to wait
patiently while it churns away!!.

PS: You can still also get them from my own
site(www.john-barrs.co.uk/dixio/words123.txt
<http://www.john-barrs.co.uk/dixio/words123.txt>files available are
wordsabc.txt
wordsabc.dix
words123.txt
words123.dix
and all 4 in wordsdix.zip

change the filename in the link above to get what you want (remember to use
lowercase only)

Correct. The date you see is the date I created the hyperlink. The files themselves aren’t on dixonary.net at all, of course, but on john-barrs.co.uk. The Google Site code would have to get the date from the actual file in order to display it. It doesn’t. That’s a pity, but fetching the date every time the page is displayed would create a lot of network traffic. I can’t edit the date directly, either: the only way to change it would be to delete the link and add it back again. Which seems very labour-intensive.
What I have done is update the description to make it clear that the files are fresh.
