Whenever I decide to choose a category (in this case food), I find three definitions within that category and have to make a choice. Of course, most likely all three are incorrect, but when I have no clue...a guess is all I have!!

<< 7. A tropical aquatic herb (Eleocharis radicans) grown for its
<< edible rhizome.
<<
<< 14. A fruit and custard dessert popular during the Regency.

I kinda liked the NADs, myself. In their absence, I'll try:

and

It's definitely 9. Or 14. Or one of the others.

Well, I already got half-a-crown so with that loose change I am free to go
anywhere. I have always viewed with suspicion definitions which themselves
are opaque, so I will disdain the duykerbok - #6 and #15 please

Vox pop says it's 12 (card game) or 17 (lane) but I don't believe either.
I'll take the neglected 13 and the popular 15.
