Just over a dozen - but they all look real to me! Vote for two hereof
before noon EDT on Wednesday (or so) without looking it up.

1. a kind of tapestry.

2. an early form of plastic.

3. a broad-spectrum antibiotic.

4. a wooden sword used for practicing fencing.

5. a strong epoxy used in manufacturing guns.

6. a unit of induction [after physicist Alfred Keval]

7. a synthetic material having similar properties to satin.

8. a person who is free of karmic matter, detached, and omniscient.

9. a polyamide used in the production of heat-resistant fibers with
high tensile strength.

10. an enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of an organic compound.

11. a fiber with a very high strength-to-weight ratio. also known
under the brand name Kevlar.

12. gauze impregnated with kaolin and other coagulants to control
bleeding, used primarily by US armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

13. An oily substance obtained from seal blubber and used for
heating and
lighting by Northern peoples.

I checked all my email boxes (one got marked by Gmail as Spam, but I
caught it) hopefully avoiding the problems my bellsouth account used
to have.

All look real? Or none look real? I haven't a clue!

I could probably concoct a realistic sounding story about a lost def and get
dealer points, but I'll admit I just got hit by Monday.

That said, I'll go with Yoda and Jabba. 8 and 13.

Avoiding the Kevlar references, I'll take unlikely 1 and the sensible 10:

> 1. a kind of tapestry.

> 10. an enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of an organic compound.

1 and 4 sound about equally unlikely

> 4. a wooden sword used for practicing fencing.

Well, I got to the end of the list without believing any of them, but
on a second read through I've chosen:

> * 7. a synthetic material having similar properties to satin.
