As Paul commented, the spread of votes was pretty even in this round,
due I think in equal measure to the fact that HAUCEPY doesn't appear
to come from any obvious English words and that the quality of the
defs you all submitted was very high. In fact, HAUCEPY comes from the
French _hausser_ to raise or lift and _pied_ foot. It's a kind of
animal trap, and, from the derivation, I can imagine it might be the
sort of loop snare attached to a sprung branch that I was taught to
make on survival courses when I was in the Air Force. (I don't think
anyone ever caught anything, animal lovers will be relieved to
hear!)

Toni Savage, Johnny Barrs, and Scott Crom head the results with 3
points each. Johnny was the only one to vote for the true def, so his
points are unnatural. Scott is ahead of Toni in the rolling scores,
so he takes the next deal.

Over to you, Scott!

Darn! Missed the vote. Did millie's go astray? I saw her votes for 1 and 23 come through just after 8 am Eastern. I hate to lose my lone vote.
