The votes are in, and the issue was very much in doubt right until the
end.

Dodi Schultz (with her adjectival goose) and Dick Weltz (with his
Vatican official) both elicited 6 votes. However, Dodi also
identified #13 (of, relating to, or consisting of communal property)
as the real definition, and therefore takes the next deal with 8
unnatural points.

Kudos to Johnny Barrs for also selecting the real definition.
Thanks to all for helping me through my first deal. -- Matthew Grieco

Guess I saw that one coming (although I'd no idea how close it was, and
congratulations to Dick!). And it's Friday the 13th.

No, of *course* I don't believe in any of that stuff. I *always *type
with crossed fingers.

The word for Round 2131: CORBIE

If you know the meaning (or think you might), please e-mail me
instantly; if enough players are privy to it, I'll pick a different word.

Otherwise: E-mail me (do *not* reply directly to this message) your
made-up definition calculated to delude others into trusting it's the
true one. To come into play, your def must reach me no later than
Saturday, 14 August, 4 p.m. EDT, which will be a bit earlier to our
west, mid-evening in western Europe, and sometime just before Sunday
dawn for our Australian contingent.

Great job on your first deal. A D2 (one of which is Barrs) is highly
respectable.
