Hm. Not easy--but then it's not *supposed* to be.

I'm dismissing the animal toddlers (probably wrongly) on the basis that
I'd have thought the last two were chicks and lambs and I see absolutely
no need to assign an entire word to an adolescent hedgehog. I don't go
for the other birds, either, and I think an urchin is just a waif.

That leaves ten possibilities, all of which seem perfectly plausible.

Actually, I rather liked Dave's NAD. But it's not listed here.

Okay, pretty much at random, I'll try:

> 10. A skateboarding technique used to descend staircases.
>

and

> potatoes, and juniper berries.

3. A Eurasian passerine, mainly brown in color, with
mottled yellow breast and rump.

10. A skateboarding technique used to descend staircases.

Chris

You can tell that it's a good bunch of defs when my only solution is
to vote for the first and the last:

> *1. A band of tight folds sewn into the fabric of a
> garment.
>
> 16. A young sheep.

A fatal bird-cry sounds interesting. And is there ever a well-dressed
urchin?

7 and 11 please

Great! I was beginning to fear you'd been washed away or something. Hope
you're holding up through the Midwest storms--and that the book's under
control.

Chris-

A good word with several likely defs. I'll go for -

1. A band of tight folds sewn into the fabric of a garment.

and

10. A skateboarding technique used to descend staircases

Thanks,
