What fun! That now qualifies as a "multimedia production!"

What fun! That now qualifies as a "multimedia production!"The whole day was a total hoot. Ospreys in flight, black skimmers skimming, and this critter dancing!

Omigosh!!!!!!

What wonderful pictures of a Snowy Egret! (more exclamation marks)

What did you take them with? Tell all.

Also what a great signature/watermark.

Snowies use those big clown feet to shuffle fish out of the vegetation near the edge of the water, when they're not mugging it up for Judy. We see them around here in fields being flood-irrigated, though they're not (for once) as common as the larger Common Egrets.

Omigosh!!!!!! What wonderful pictures of a Snowy Egret! (more exclamation marks) What did you take them with? Tell all. This was my first day out with the combo of Canon 7D and 100-400mm zoom lens since getting them back from Canon. I'd had consistently inconsistent focusing issues since I bought the 7D -- sometimes smack on, sometimes front focusing, sometimes back focusing, which led me to believe it must be my fault. Finally gave up, took the camera and lens in, and now, as you can see, the focus is nailed most of the time.

Also what a great signature/watermark.Thanks! I like the Lucinda handwriting font.

>focus is nailed

Sure is. Great pix, as usual. Windy day, or egret deshabille? I'd say 1/250? (perfect for shooting an egret doing standup).

Which means at least ASA 800, you dawg. Oops ISO. I'm not only camera-poor, I'm old.

Got a benign EXIF plugin to recommend for, say, Firefox 36?

Got a benign EXIF plugin to recommend for, say, Firefox 36?This (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3905/) is the one I use. Just right click on any image and, if the EXIF data is available, it'll show.

I'm always amazed at the great quality a digital camera can get at high speeds and normal ISO (400/below), compared to film.

Is your lens Image Stabilized?

Sea Monkey's "search" gave me

FxIF (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5673/)

though I'd guess any of the three the general search turns up would work.

Is your lens Image Stabilized? It is, but it's one of the oldest IS lenses, so you have to consider it basically first generation IS.
