Well, the suspense over a D0 was ended with the first vote and ironically,
that voter is the next dealer, thanks to her ill-fated def attracting five
votes accompanied by the 2 votes for guessing correctly. Dodi can take
small comfort in the fact that she would be dealing even without the two
points for the correct def.

There were 2 players in coveted second place with 4 points
each: Tony Abell and Millie Morgan.

The true definition was 5: "To despise." (OED 2nd), which 2
perceptive players guessed.

So take it away, Dodi. You're on.

1. A shaman woman skilled in trance inducing techniques; a
female necromancer.

Dodi will deal as soon as she can get her e-mail working again.

Verizon DSL was totally out in my local area for around 12 hours; couldn't get online at all. It's back now, but after three conversations with techs in Canada, the Philippines, and somewhere in the backwaters of the Asian subcontinent*, I have yet to be able to resume contact with my e-mailbox. And I have a couple of urgent business matters to take care of, when that does happen, which I hope--but given the state of things around here, do not necessarily expect--will happen within the next couple of hours. (And I have 24 to get the new word up, right?)

Dial-up was slow, but . . .

Tiredly (one of those tech talks was 90 minutes when I should've been asleep),

*Anybody still wonder about the continuing high US unemployment?

P.S. Will somebody please relay the foregoing message to the group, via e-mail? I think that's necessary in order for it to get to everyone.

Thanks!
