I wanted to let all of you know that my husband Russ passed away on June 23.
There is a memorial service this Saturday:

Russ so enjoyed playing "the game" and the on-line friendships.

Sincerely,

Virginia Heimerson

Oh, damn.

I saw Russ's name in the header and thought, ah, great, he's well
enough to rejoin the game.

And then I opened the message--

So sad. I sent a brief note to his wife. Russ will be missed. <sigh>

Dodi expresses my sentiments exactly.

In the early days Russ and I had an extensive off-list
correspondence. And it was he who gave me my copy of the Random
House Unabridged Dictionary.

My condolences to Virginia.

Just caught up with the sad news of Russ's passing. I never met him
except via this forum, but feel I have known him for many years. I
haven't checked the stats but assume he must have been one of the
earliest players, not to mention one of the most regular and constant.
