I'm sure glad that I save everyone's definitions until a round has been completed!

Here are a total of 17 definitions for ARET in no particular order. Please vote for two by public reply to this message before the deadline, which is 9:00 PM EDT on Thursday, June 17, 2010, or 6:00 PM PDT...etc.

I can absolutely, definitely eliminate one (in addition to my own lame
concoction). The other fifteen have me completely stumped.

I'll make wild guesses at:
