Managed to run away from home with no other obligations for (gasp) a whole day this weekend. Got to Forsythe NWR down in Brigantine and had a ball...

There were ospreys...

Judy,

That sounds great! We went the other direction... into the city and saw "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" at my favorite theater, Sunshine. Then had a great snack in the East Village. Did manage to get some sand between my toes though.

Fantastic pix! What lens did you use? Thanks, Mike! That was taken with the 100-400 zoom. Expensive lens, and needs to be calibrated with the 7D, but still worth it.

I figured it was a very long lens. The shots are great! You're off PBase now?

I figured it was a very long lens. The shots are great! Thanks, Mike -- and even 400mm isn't long enough for a lot of stuff.

You're off PBase now?I keep the site there but new stuff is going onto the photos.jgrussell.com site because I can set it up more the way I want it and the URL is easier for people.

I'm getting better w/the Rebel. I still have problems with proper lighting and framing, but it is getting better. I find myself using the 50mm more and more. Fantastic DOF, and decently fast.
