Dick

I used to have an 18 when I was a Boy Scout, and despite being a 10
I'll vote for:

I like the idea of .... 1 to 19 (including my own of course) - they are all
far too believable, but as I have to make a choice I'll go #7 and #8 please

How did you manage to post without the 'unsubscribe' line?

Not a single strange character there, but totally baffling nonetheless! I'll take a stab at these two:

2: [OE] a fig (Chaucer)

5: obs. fire; flame; put in ~, set alight

Since there are two runaway favourites, neither of which is mine, I can vote
as I please without having to worry about catching the deal: 2 and 17.

Despite my hunch that the “entrant” could be a dictionary, I’ve got to join the crowd looking at 1 and 7, which ought to have been combined unless the less complex one was the real one. Which leads to a guess on which one’s less complex. 1 specifies salmon, but 7 specifies hoops.

Ah, heck. Does it matter? Both 1 and 7.

Hmm ... I haven't seen the definition list show up in my mail box yet
but all the activity was a clue that I should look at the Google
Group.

I'll fall for 1 and 18 this time.
