Well, running a little late this morning due to a small computer issue that I had to clear up before collecting the votes. I see that I received 12 votes out of 16 players so I hope that I haven't somehow missed some votes. In any case, on to the results as presently recorded.

In round 2088, 3 players earned top spot with 3 points: they were Tim Bourne, Chuck Emery and Judy Madnick. Judy Madnick's definition "Red dye made from brazil wood; a reddish or red-orange colour." earned its author the deal by virtue of her rolling score total, so the others can heave a sigh of relief that their defs did not earn one more vote.

There were 4 players in runner-up position with 2 points
each: Tony Abell, Millie Morgan, Nancy Shepherdson and
Guerri Stevens.

The true definition was 9: "The concave curve of a boat's
keel." (OED 2nd Edition). One lucky guess just pipped me for
a D0.

1. To pull (a felled tree) out of a forest.
Vote from: Shefler
Submitted by: Crom, who scores natural 1.

2. Lop-sided; not quite straight.
Votes from: Emery, Morgan and Schultz
Submitted by: Bourne, who scores natural 3.

3. Large toothed frog of South America and Central America
resembling the bullfrog.
Vote from: Savage
Submitted by: Widdis, who scores natural 1.

4. A small hand plane for single handed use.
Votes from: Bourne, Morgan and Weltz
Submitted by: Emery, who scores natural 3.

5. _Obs._ Ginger.
Vote from: Savage
Submitted by: Keating, who scores natural 1.

6. 1. Originally armour for the legs [Fr. jambe _knee_] 2.
nowadays shin-pads used in various sports.
Vote from: Widdis
Submitted by: Barrs, who scores natural 1.

7. A ratchet modified to accommodate an acutely curved
pawl.
Vote from: Madnick
Submitted by: Schultz, who scores natural 1.

8. To walk with a limp.
Votes from: Barrs and Keating
Submitted by: Abell, who scores natural 2.

9. The concave curve of a boat's keel.
Vote from: Stevens
Real definition from OED 2nd Edition

10. A short sword with a wide blade.
No votes
Submitted by: Stevens, who scores 0 + 2, total 2.

11. A European keyboard instrument of the Baroque period.
Votes from: Schultz and Weltz
Submitted by: Morgan, who scores natural 2.

12. A ski boot clamping device comprised of a ski clamp
mounting plate which has an end with a raised portion
forming a hook. The boot clamp has a first portion
which is adapted to extend across the ski for
engagement with the rear end of the boot and which has
a skirt which has an engagement end which is engageable
behind the plate raised portion with the hook. The boot
clamp also has a second portion which is rotatably
mounted in a cylindrical formation on the side of the
ski and it is biased by a spring so that when the first
portion becomes released from the boot, the first
portion is rotated by rotation of the second portion at
least over 180° so that it extends downwardly into
engagement with the snow so as to hold the ski against
movement.
Vote from: Madnick
Submitted by: Shefler, who scores natural 1.

13. Red dye made from brazil wood; a reddish or red-orange
colour.
Votes from: Emery, Keating and Shefler
Submitted by: Madnick, who scores natural 3.

14. A transverse pressure valve in a hydroelectric dam.
Votes from: Bourne and Widdis
Submitted by: Shepherdson, who scores natural 2.

15. [OE] A muzzle or mouth gag made of cloth.
No votes
Submitted by: Savage.

16. The residue from processing of raw latex into block
rubber by use of formic acid.
Vote from: Stevens
Submitted by: Weltz, who scores natural 1.

17. An incused soffit.
Vote from: Barrs
Submitted by: Cunningham, who scores natural 1.

Thanks, Toni. That word looked to me like a sleeper when I saw it and sure
enough it didn't do too badly. It was just as well I hit the deal on a
really nasty weekend when there wasn't much chance to get outside. And
thank goodness, we live on the side of a hill so we didn't have flooding
problems. I'm not sure how we missed losing a tree or two but we dodged
that as well. All in all, it was a good weekend to stay in, play on the
computer, watch some old movies and play with the granddaughter.
