View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 2071--NEW WORD: PALUDAL

My deepest apologies, friends! I should have read my email
much earlier, because John Barrs informed me that FLITWITE was
dealt by Kathryn Lance back in Round 1029. Actually, the story
is slightly more complicated: because the ligature between the
'f' and the 'l' was not very clear to these ancient eyes, I
thought at first that the word I'd chosen was FITWITE--I did check
the list of previously dealt words, and that one didn't appear.
When I found my mistake in spelling, I simply forgot to check the
list again!

So, the new word for Round 2071 is now:

.. *****************
.. * *
.. * P A L U D A L *
.. * *
.. *****************

or plain paludal--capitalization is irrelevant.

If you'd like to let your definition for FLITWITE stand, you need
to do nothing (although definitions including an etymology would
need modification at the very least).

Let's extend the deadline for submission by twelve hours.

Please send me (by private email, of course) your definitions of
PALUDAL by:

0800, aka 8:00 am, EST, Saturday morning, January 9
0400 PST

Again, my humble apologies!

Scott, feeling even more inept than usual...
