I was sure that my def for that last round would be so
transparently a last-minute fake as to discourage everyone from
voting for it. One never know, do one. :-(

Okay: For what I assume will be the penultimate round of the year
2009, the word for you to define convincingly and winningly is:

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
^ ^
^ CHINCHERINCHEE ^
^ ^
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Your def, calculated to convince fellow players that it came from
a dictionary and not your fertile imagination, should be sent to
me by private e-mail (NOT by direct reply to this message) to
arrive no later than Sunday, 27 December, at 8 p.m. PST, 10 p.m.
CST, 11 p.m. EST; and Monday, 28 December, at 4 a.m. in England,
5 a.m. in the Netherlands, and 3 p.m. in Melbourne.

Should you happen to KNOW the meaning of the word above, please
advise immediately (again, by private e-mail); if too many are
familiar with it, I'll find another word.

Last-minute Boxing Day greetings to those in the Commonwealth,
Happy Kwanzaa to those observing that week-long occasion (which
began today), and I THINK that covers the possibilities for now.

Puzzle addicts may wish to have a go at the Boxing Day challenge
(I found it kind of fun) at:

Geoff, welcome back! Hope your move went well.

Good luck that rubs off a Chimney Sweep when they shakes 'ands with you.
