Don, wow. Bummer. But welcome back, and we're all pulling for you on the
upcoming therapy!

Thanks for the good wishes. I start my chemo-therapy tomorrow. Had a good
session with the oncologist today and am encouraged about the course of
treatment. I've not had chemo before and have been dreading it but after
today's session with the doctor I am reassured.

Guerri, Chuck, Judy, Judy, Scott and any others I may have missed. Thank
you all for your kind wishes. Yes, I am upbeat now that I'm home here in
Yuma and finally getting started on my chemo-therapy. We met with the
oncologist today and apparently he is not planning on any radiation
treatment at this time. He says the newest drugs for treating colon cancer
are relatively benign and actually more effective than the older type that
caused such sickness.

I hope it's "easy" for you. I've heard from others that the newer drugs are not as difficult to deal with as they were previously. Good luck!

Judy,
It may be too soon to tell, but I had my first chemo treatment today with
absolutely no side-effects. I spent a relaxing 90 minutes in a lounge
chair and read a book while the chemo dripped in. Left there and went to
an Applebees Restaurant and had a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and it was
delicious.
I go back tomorrow for the second half of this cycle's administration. It
may be tougher. Time will tell.
I decided that if there was a good chance I'd lose my hair from the chemo,
I'd beat it to the punch. I stopped at the barber's and got a buzz-cut
<VBG>. First time I've had one in at least 50 years. Betty likes it so I
may keep it :-).
