View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 2052: ZOUTCH vote
Daniel B. Widdis
October 30th, 2009, 02:34 PM
Thanks to a flurry of definitions arriving overnight, we now have a
total of 16 definitions for ZOUTCH. Please vote for two, by public
reply to this message.
Simply because I can, I'm setting the deadline at 2:00AM EDT/1:00AM
EST on Sunday, November 01, 2009. East-coasters, vote before you turn
your clocks back an hour! I'll be collecting the votes here in Vegas
at 11:00PM PDT Saturday night. That's 0600 UTC for those wiser souls
across the pond who have already adjusted your clocks.
1. moat [OE]
2. a type of splint armour
3. to displease; to offend

7. a thicket or woodland providing shelter for game
8. [Yid.] a small flying insect; an insignificant person
9. 1. an underground passage or cellar, esp. in a

man in a cricket team is out first ball
13. a permanent, circular house, typically built of bamboo
poles woven with grasses, and having a thatched roof
14. the leaves and residue of processing quinoa
(Chenopodium quinoa) for cooking. Used as an ingredient
in some laxatives
15. 1. (in India) an exhibition of dancing by professional
dancing girls. 2. also called zoutch dance. A sinuous

Hi Daniel,
Are you sure you added the real def? Are you actually even sure it's a real
word? For I am not!
Anyway, I'll toss my votes at these two creative definitions"

I really did read them all, but I'm going to go--probably
wrongly--with two of the early ones:
