--at long last, and apologies for the couldn't-be-helped delay.

Below are 18 inventive interpretations of FRONDEUR, plus one from
an actual dictionary; your challenge is to find that one. Pick
the two you think most likely and post your conclusions to all,
in direct reply to this message.

New to the game? Feel free to jump in now. Not new but didn't
submit a def? You may still vote, and perhaps earn points for the
right pick.

If you had not previously DQ'd but now realize that you know the
word, you're honor-bound not to vote and to notify the dealer
(that's me) privately.

Deadline for responding: Wednesday, 28 October, 10 p.m. EDT. This
'twixt-times week being so confusing, please figure out the time
in your area for yourself, and thank you very much.

You're forgiven for the delay, but not for leaving out the real def. C'mon,
really? One of these is true?

OK, 18 because catapults are cool, and 4 because catapults are dangerous in
the hands of rebels.

Dodi

I'll ignore the flaneur and the frotteur, as well as most of the
fronds, and vote for the speck and the border (oops - nearly wrote
bordeur!):

3 and 8 please.

Because I am the only John in the player list and in obedience to Paul's
instruction: I am suggesting #3 and #17 for Paul Keating --- Whether you
accept this vote is up to you as dealer

Hope your friend is now recovering satisfactorily Dodi.

I am now experiencing a sense of regret about something I said,
specifically the def I submitted, and wishing I had thought of
something like a catapult, so pls give my votes to 12 and 18.

6 is hilarious and a hearty "nice try" to the author of 16, but I think I'll go
for 3 and 15, for no good reason:
