On Friday, a lady wrote in her blog (http://www.mybottlesup.com/tsa-agents-took-my-son) about her "worst nightmare"--losing sight of her son at a TSA security point, after her son's pacifier clip sounded the alarm and a TSA agent took the son while she waited for additional screening.
The TSA posted its response (http://www.tsa.gov/blog/2009/10/response-to-tsa-agents-took-my-son.html) later that day.
I dunno... it sure looks to me like the TSA followed procedures, and the child was never out of the mother's reach, much less out of her sight.
Personally, I'm glad that the TSA posted its side of the story. Way too often, agencies who are doing their job properly get maligned by people with an agenda. While I'm sure the TSA has made some mistakes (after all, regardless of their demeanors, the workers are human!), in this case, I think someone is just trying to get some attention.
At least the mommy didn't have a balloon!
