Interesting article. But why did all the "fi"s in the right panel disappear?

If I only had the money, I wouldn't mind doing a similar trip, but with Judy's camera. <g>

Kodachrome was great film, no question. But if I never have to deal with another roll of film, that will be just fine with me. Digital may not quite have the richness of film, yet, but it's certainly getting there.

The ligatures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typographic_ligature) in the original copy did not convert. (The technology failed!)

Yeah, I should have warned about that but by now I've gotten used to it. I've complained to the paper, and directly to the online "publisher" Tecnavia in MN, and I've given up. It's the only Tecnavia paper I read that does it so it may not be worth the time to find the cause and fix it.

D'oh! I should have asked my spouse, the resident typography expert.

And even in its current state, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages about 99% of the time.

And someone must have whipped up a K-chrome-curves Pshop plugin by now, no?

I know my Minolta successfully imitates out-of-date Anscochrome that's been developed in weak tea, unless you massage the RAWfile half to death.

Oh, and for the benighted -- use compatibility mode to view Jeff's newspaper link, if you're so unreconstructed as to use IE8.
