There are a total of 18 definitions for FOMA. Please vote
for two, by public reply to this message, before deadline,
which is 8:00 PM EDT on Saturday, May 09, 2009, or 5:00 PM
PDT .

1. restless; fidgety

2. the area around a cattle pen [O.E.]

3. a maker's mark, esp. on porcelein and ceramics

4. the gap in a joint normally occupied by cartilage

5. the bubbles in a boiling liquid [Lat. _fomare_ to boil]


6. a rectangular, often tapering stone post used as a

Weird: Votes started arriving at my mailbox 23 minutes before the list of
definitions got there!

Anyway--contrary to the guesses I've seen so far, one of which is probably
