View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 1996 VEGELATE Results

There were fewer defs than usual in this round, but those who didn't
submit one made up for it by voting.

Only Tim Bourne guessed that VEGELATE was the EU's proposed term for
chocolate containing vegetable fat. Incidentally, I seem to remember
that that type of chocolate is only made in Britain, so we felt we
were being victimized! Paul Keating came close with his Vegemite def,
and - as usual - Johnny Barrs was DQ.

Mike Shefler (def 6) and Dodi Schultz (def 8) were neck and neck for
most of the voting, but a late surge for her wingtip talon wins Dodi
the next deal with 8 natural points.

My computer has only done its shrinking display trick once while I've
been typing this, so I hope it holds out long enough for me to post
it!

Over to you, Dodi.

You're unfortunately right about the next deal, Tim, but I think you
misplaced a couple of votes. Judy's for one: She didn't vote for my def but
for #3 and #5.

New word coming up.

Dodi,

Any more votes you noted missing before I do the rolling scores?

Mike

No, Mike; I went back over them, and that seems to be it--i.e., Judy voted
for #5, not #8. I'd thought I had only six votes (as opposed to the eight
reported), but it seems I had seven.
