I clicked on my own member ID and those of some other members. Then I saw a box holding a message saying something about not belonging to any public groups. I didn't see anybody who belonged to anything as far as "public groups" goes.

Apparently it does NOT have anything to do with Instant Messaging.

Is it something that could or should apply to this forum? Or is it a feature of the forum that is not enabled now?

Just curious. If anybody knows and wants to tell, please tell. Otherwise I can wait a year or so.

Bingo. It's essentially the ability to create mini-forums with passwords and the like. We don't see any reason to use it.

We're too cheap for that. But folks who make donations here do get their own personal wowee tapcis.com email address!
