Well, I set a world record for drainage time at 6 weeks, (OK-- at least it was two weeks longer than my surgeon's nurses had ever seen!)

But the drain is out and I'm ready for radiation!

Toni, you have my love & my very best wishes. Every day doctors & scientists are working on new & better treatments;

The drain is THE PITS, isn't it? Thank heavens it's out. Fingers and toes crossed that radiation goes well.

Thanks, Wayne. Yes, I took part in a lymphedema study at my last doctor visit!

Thanks, and yep--literally "the pits!"

Lymphedema is my next challenge... My weight makes it more difficult...sigh.

But the drain is out and I'm ready for radiation!Sorry about the radiation, but I was on a drain for [only] a couple of weeks after my CA surgery a decade ago. It was definitely the pits — you have lots of my empathy (six weeks is amazing).

Do hope everything goes swimmingly from now on.

Ouch. You are getting hit from both sides and then some, aren't you? I never had any problem with lymphedema -- but my aunt did and still wears the sleeve most of the time. She learned to do a particular kind of massage that is very helpful.

yes, I'm on the list to be scheduled for therapy, and I'm hoping for "massage training". Now that the bag is off, I can take real showers and I hope the water on that area will also "massage" it a bit.

Funny how we take things like showers for granted, isn't it? Sure hope the massage -- by water or otherwise -- helps.
