Step 1: Obama called for Pennsylvania.

Well, that is based on exit polls rather than any reporting precincts, but the exit poll numbers I see on MSNBC are really strong: O+14

I keep refreshing the Virginia State Board of Elections Nov 2008 Unofficial Results (https://www.voterinfo.sbe.virginia.gov/election/DATA/2008/07261AFC-9ED3-410F-B07D-84D014AB2C6B/Unofficial/1_s.shtml) site to watch the numbers change as the more Democratic northern Virgina county results come in. Right now McCain is ahead, 50.31% to 48.62%, but it is mostly the rural counties of "real Virginia" that have reported in.

Very slow refresh... everyone must be hitting that page.

Ok, refresh, 50.09/48.84 and the absolute gap went from McCain 35,000 votes ahead to McCain 25,000 votes ahead, with one or two million votes left to count.

If you accept that the calls for PA are correct, then VA would sew it up.

VA would sew it up.Plus Ohio. Plus Florida. Plus Colorado and New Mexico. And Iowa. And New Hampshire.

Wow.

Wow.

A couple of states still up in the air, but at this point he has nearly run the table.

FiveThirtyEight.com had a refresh problem too. In fact, trying to do it knocked my little MacBook out completely — couldn’t even use Force Quit, had to physically turn it off.

Quite a night.
