This (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/sleuth/2008/11/sarah_palin_pranked_by_sarkozy.html?hpid=topnews) is just plain hilarious...It was painful to listen to. At first I was sure it was a total hoax — someone mimicking Palin. But it did sound like her.

How humiliating.

How does someone get her phone number?

How does someone get her phone number? It certainly did make her sound like the idiot she is. But the phone number is probably easy... most of the media would have it. These guys have pranked a LOT of people and they seem to have no trouble getting the phone numbers.

These guys have pranked a LOT of people and they seem to have no trouble getting the phone numbers.Someone else did answer her phone; she got flustered, and handed it right over. No sense of survival there.

If the number is passed out to media, you would think they would be extra circumspect about answering. If nothing else, they should insist on calling back.

Oh, well. I see that no one is going to mess with this one, and just as well. Maybe a tit-for-tat over Obama’s aunt, who seems to have overstayed her visa. Not that they are equivalent (Obama is not her keeper or even close to her), but . . .

Half-aunt, what I heard -- father's half-sister. Can't believe the depth of the Republican dredging!

They're just desperate to find some mud that sticks when they sling it, because they can't win without a miracle and they know it. On the whole, these slanders remind me of the half-truths the Incumbents* used to justify invading Iraq. I think most of us know how many WMDs were actually found in Iraq.

*I like capitalizing it so it sounds like a title. The Incumbents: they sold 25000 percent of the play; now all they need is sure-fire flop. The Incumbents opened in January 2001, starring George W. Bush as Max Bialystock and Dick Cheney as Leo Bloom.

That's not the half of it. Whoever it was who (almost certainly) broke the law and leaked information about her immigration status may have endangered her life, and (ironically) may improve her case for asylum as a result. http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/11/experts_leak_on_obamas_aunt_co.php

Awww c'mon. They found that missile -- the one that would almost reach to Iraq's northern border--

Wow. That's scary. And far, far more inexcusable than what I supposed from the mentions on NPR, that she just hadn't managed to get the renewal processed. Pretty inexcusable for NPR, too, IMO.
