The next word up for your consideration is

The deadline for defiinitgions (and a new spell checker for the dealer) will be 6am Monday October 20. That's Eastern Time unless Vista changed something when I wasn't looking.

Now I have to get my e-mail working with a new install of Coryphaeus or I'll be doing cut-n-paste off Gmail.

[Windows needs your permission to continue] I HATE IT! TURN IT OFF!!

Are we having fun yet?

No? Well this keyboard has a "hibernate" button about 1/4 inch from the ESC key. I've hit it twice by accident in the last 20 minutes.

As of early Sunday, I have defs from Dave and Judy; No DQ's so far.

Cory isn't cooperating with e-mail, but I can't send anything to Gmail
from my normal mail client. Fortunately I have other accounts that
work. Temporarily I'm dealing with the old standby, Autodealer. At
least I know how it works.

As of 12 noon BST on Sunday, I haven't seen an announcement of the word yet!

Best wishes,
Tim B.

I think you can turn off the "permission to continue". Try looking up
"user account control" in the help. I also have Vista, and although I
have gotten used to it, I still don't like it. The CompuServe Windows
forum was very helpful to me while I was trying to get the blasted thing
to work the way I wanted. After all this is a Personal Computer, so
shouldn't we be able to have more control????

A very believable def, Dick. I might well have voted for it! Now, you'll
want to send a brand-new one to Bill PRIVATELY, eh.

Enjoy your new headwear.

Bill, don't try to use Coryphæus 4.2 with Vista. It's not Vista compliant. It can be made to work, but...

Version 4.4, which is Vista compliant, is being tested. But I need to deal a round to do a proper test and I haven't been playing all that well lately.

Guys,

It looks like messages posted on tapcis.com are not feeding through to
Google. But they are going in the other direction.

Not just this one: my posting on tapcis.com in reply to it also hasn't
arrived.

I found the option, but for now I'm leaving it on. The "Are you sure?"
dialog was worst when I was moving some files around from my backup,
and that's something I do a lot when migrating to a new machine.

At times it felt like this: "You seem to be typing. Please enter the
administrator password to continue. Do it again. You could turn on the
stickykeys if you are making typos. Would you like to see that? Type
the administrator password to see the stickykeys. Sorry, you don't
have permission to use the stickykeys. Type the administrator
password. Thank you. The keyboard is not responding. Type the
administrator password. Please put down the gun. I'm only trying to
help. You'll have to have administrator privileiges to shoot the
computer. Type the password. Good! you can fire the gun! Click on

Thanks. I almost had it working under XP compatibility, but it froze
up testing the e-mail connection. I didn't spend too much time on it
as I a ton of shortcuts to create for my legacy software. One well
behaved program dates from 1984, and works fine under Vista.
Autodealer works perfectly too.

Only when they are posted by someone with an address not registered in the
google group (i.e., Bill's gmail address.) The message was hanging around
in the Google moderation queue.
