I couldn't print the acknowledge of receipt of payment to telco with Firefox, Opera, or MS IE 6.0 in Win 98 so I finally gave up and switched my gmail to HTML only and it worked. So I suspect Ajax/Javascript is the problem. FWIW, etc.
I mean FWIW, since I may be the only jerk left in here susing Win 98 at all.

I thought u wuz a Russell not a Murphy.I do believe in Murphy's Law. Indeed, I believe in Russell's corollary to Murphy's Law ("Murphy was an optimist"). That doesn't change the fact that, as far as Windows versions go, XP is rock solid. I'm about 24 hours from picking up my new baby and she's getting XP Pro installed.

wrong, my friend. using 6 machines in the office, day in day out, with no hiccup, and two laptops.
since all of them are in a closed enviroment with little access to the 'other' world, and rather dedicated
jobs to do, no fear for the future either.
actual HDDs have long been replaced with CompactFlash memory, so they are very quiet too. And by
just flipping cards from one to the other (incl different countries), i have the entire system in my pocket.
the laptops, though, might have to go for purely mechanical reasons, but there are quite some spare
ones around, still.
greetings, the other jerk - heinz -
