I haven't heard that. The last version on our local TV news was that he had fallen asleep.

I haven't heard that. The last version on our local TV news was that he had fallen asleep.

The last I heard last night, driving home from Pennsylvania, was that the metro folks admitted that the engineer -- a contract worker -- was responsible and had failed to stop for a track signal. The news report mentioned that a text message had been sent a minute before the accident, but today's LA Times has this to say: "KCBS-AM (740) reported Saturday that several teenage train aficionados said they had received a text message from the engineer shortly before the crash. The NTSB said it was treating the report with caution, noting that similar accounts had circulated after a crash in Boston but were found to be inaccurate."

That is what our local news is saying. One report is that he fell asleep.
